And so to the main course...

Seafood has to be the order of the day.  You could go down the 'messy' route here - think prawns dipped into a home-made wobbly lemon mayonnaise - or you could go down the more sophisticated route of something on a plate... 
I think the real star of the shellfish world is the scallop.  Sweet, juicy, caremelised around the edges... perfect served with something sharp (sherry vinegar here) and something salty (Iberico ham).

I cooked this last year for Valentine's and so I'll just point you to the recipe:  Scallops with Iberico Ham, Hazelnuts and Sherry Vinegar Dressing.

To drink?  The folks at Matching Food & Wine recomend a white Burgundy - and who am I to differ?
