I'm trying to compile my full list of cook books - it's going to take a while I think!  Here are some to be getting on with...

It's only when you list things like your cookbooks that you realise things about your collection.  So in my case, I seem to have a lot of books by 'TV' cooks.  And a lot of my books are now out of print - in some cases that's very sad (Bruce Cost and Frances Bissell's books in particular - I use them as reference books all the time.)

a

Fantastico! Modern Italian Food - Gino D'Acampo (2007)

Wagamama Cookbook - Hugo Arnold (2004)

Apicius: A Critical Edition with an Introduction and English Translation - Apicius, Christopher Grocock and Sally Grainger (2006)

b

The Real Meat Cookbook - Frances Bissell (1992) (out of print)

Anthony Bourdain's "Les Halles" Cookbook: Classic Bistro Cooking - Anthony Bourdain (2004)

The Medieval Cookbook - Maggie Black (1996)

c

Antonio Carluccio's Italian Feast -  Antonio Carluccio and Graham Kirk (1996)

The Moro Cookbook - Sam & Sam Clarke (2001) - Read my review

Moro East - Sam & Sam Clarke (2007)  (Review forthcoming)

Foods From the Far East - Bruce Cost (1990) - Out of print

Gastronomy of Italy - Anna del Conte (2004)

Nose to Tail Eating: A Kind of British Cooking - Fergus Henderson (2004)

The book from the St John Restaurant with an emphasis on the bits we don't usually get to eat - lots of offal recipes my wife won't let me cook for her!
Beyond Nose to Tail: A Kind of British Cooking: Part II - Fergus Henderson (2007) (review forthcoming)

The River Cottage Cookbook - Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and Simon Wheeler (2001)

The Prawn Cocktail Years - Simon Hopkinson and Lindsay Bareham (1999)

Week in Week Out  - Simon Hopkinson (2007) (Review forthcoming)

Madhur Jaffrey's Ultimate Curry Bible - Madhur Jaffrey (2003)

Terrible name, great book. A round-the-world trip of curries. There's a great stuffed vegetable curry I've cooked a couple of times which is a firm favourite at home.

Flavours of India - Madhur Jaffrey (1995) - Out of print

 l

Soho Cooking - Alastair Little (1999) - Out of print

A personal view of cooking around the Soho area of London since Little has been there - quite some time. More than just recipes (which are great), the book is full of lovely anecdotes about restaurants, shops and people.

Food of Spain and Portugal: A Regional Celebration - Elisabeth Luard (2007) - Read my review

m

Larousse Gastronomique: The World's Greatest Cookery Encyclopedia (Larousse) - Prosper Montagne (ed)

Quite simply, the Bible of cooking. It's a book about food, an encyclopeda of ingredients, a recipe book and the ultimate argument solver all in one. No kitchen should be without one.

Morimoto: The New Art of Japanese Cooking - Masaharu Morimoto (2007) - Read my review

Simply Seasonal: Claire Macdonald's Delicious Recipes for Year-Round Informal Entertaining - Claire MacDonald (2001)

o

The Return of the Naked Chef - Jamie Oliver (2000)

Jamie's Italy - Jamie Oliver (2005)

r

Pork and Sons - Stephane Reynaud (2007) - Read my review

Charming, eccentric, beautiful - and porky!

Gordon Ramsay Makes It Easy - Gordon Ramsay (2005)

New British Classics - Gary Rhodes (1999)

s

Rick Stein's Seafood - Rick Stein (2001)

While some of the recipes from this book appear in other Stein cookbooks, this is far and away the best of his works. The opening section on techniques is indespensible. Many of the recipes are quite difficult by Stein's standards (though he preaches simplicity), but the effects are top restaurant quality.

Rick Stein's  Taste of the Sea - Rick Stein (1996) - Out of print

Rick Stein's Seafood Lovers' Guide - Rick Stein (2000)

Rick Stein's Food Heroes - Rick Stein (2002)

Rick Stein's Food Heroes: Another Helping - Rick Stein (2004)

Delia's Winter Collection - Delia Smith (1995)

Mushroom - Nick Sandler & Johnny Acton (2007) (Review forthcoming)

Appetite: So What Do You Want to Eat Today? - Nigel Slater (2001)

The Kitchen Diaries: A Year in the Kitchen - Nigel Slater (2005)

The Cuisine of Alain Senderens - Alain Senderens and Caroline Conran (1982) - Out of print

There are plenty more to add to this list - I'm pretty sure there's a packing case full in the garage from when we moved a year ago.  There is also a long list of books about food to add - all in good time!
